1.5 lb. cut-up stew beef,
1 soup bone (if desired),
1 onion (chopped),
2 tsp. salt,
1 or 2 bay leaf(s)
2 qts. cold water
2 carrots (sliced),
1 c. french style green beans,
1 c. chopped canned tomatoes,
1 large celery stalk,
2 medium potatoes (skinned and cubed),
1 medium turnip (skinned and cubed),
1/2 c. chopped cabbage,
1.5 tsp. oregano

Directions:
Directions:
Place stew beef, soup bone, onion, salt, bay leaf(s) and water into a large pot and simmer for 2 hours. Remove bone.
Add vegetables and oregano and simmer another hour.
