Banana Bread Recipe

2 large (or 3 small) bananas, mashed
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. buttermilk

Preheat oven to 350.

Sift together: flour, salt, soda, and baking powder. In a mixing bowl, combine shortening, eggs, vanilla, sugar, and buttermilk. Mix well.

Add sifted ingredients and mashed bananas alternately while beating with a mixer on #3 speed for 2 minutes.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

Serve either warm or cooled.
