2 lbs. ground beef
2 cups chopped onion
2 - 28oz. cans tomatoes
2 - 16oz. cans kidney beans drained (reserve liquid)
1 - 8oz. can tomato sauce
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook and stir ground beef and onion in large heavy roatster until meat is browned and onion tender. Stir in tomatoes, liquid from kidney beans, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer uncovered 1 hour and 15 minutes. Add beans and simmer uncovered 15 minutes, or until of desired consistency. Stir occasionally.
