1 dozen eggs
2 1/3 cups sugar
1 1/3 Cups crisco
1/3 of a large drinking glass of annisette
1 tsp salt
2 pkgs yeast
1 1/2 pounds flour

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Beat eggs, annisette and criso with an electric beater till fluffy. Beat in sugar. Add all dry ingredients at once and stir to combine. Place into a large, greased bowl and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let rise over nite. Punch dough down and place into greased tins or tube pans. Let rise again for 2 hours. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or till toothpick comes out clean. Let cool. Drizzle a mixture of 10x sugar and cream over the top and serve at room temp.

This old fashioned bread was a favorite of my family. It's wonderful any way you serve it, but try it toasted---fantastic!
