1 to 1-1/2 lbs fresh asparagus
Salt and pepper to taste
3 Tbsp butter

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º. Rinse and trim asparagus (do not peel unless very tough). Place asparagus in one or two layers in a flat dish, large enough to hold them, sprinkle with salt and pepper and dot with butter. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Asparagus will be crunchy and not lose color.
