Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 cups chicken broth
2 cups chopped potatoes
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk, cream, or half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Boil the potatoes in the chicken broth and spices until tender. (about 15 min). Pour the mixture into your blender and blend until smooth. Make sure you use a folded dishcloth to hold the lid on because when the mixture pushes up on the lid it will be hot! Melt the butter and stir the flour into it to make a roux. Cook this for about a minute to take away the floury taste. Add to that the milk or cream and cook until thick. You can do this on the stove, stirring constantly, or in the microwave, stirring every 2-3 minutes. Combine the milk mixture with the potato mixture and stir together. Serve with grated cheese, bacon bits, chopped green onions and sour cream
