Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb. butter
2 c. sugar

2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
3 c. oatmeal
sprinkle of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar for a long time until creamy.

Mix remaining ingredients with your electric mixer and spoon on cookie sheet. Bake @ 325º for 10 minutes on top rack only. These cookies don't look finished in the oven. Leave them on the cookie sheet for a few minutes and then they flatten out. I found 10 minutes exactly on the top rack cooks best.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandma Nordstrom used to sit with me at her kitchen table and we'd eat these. They were my cousin Vicki's recipe. (She was a home economic major at Northwest University .....and then became an astrologist!).
