3/4 cup sifted flour
1 cup sugar
5 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp.White syrup
1/2 cup shortening, softened
2 eggs, unbeaten
1tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts, your choice (optional)

Mix all ingredients on med. speed for 3(min). Pour into 6" square, greased baking pan.
bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp Melted oleo
2-3 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly, spread on cooled brownies.
