Triple-Chocolate Quick Bread Recipe

1/2 C butter or margarine, softened
2/3 C packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 C (6 oz) miniature semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1 1/2 C applesauce
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 C miniature semisweet chocolate chips



Glaze:
1/2 C miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
2 to 3 Tbsp half-and-half cream
1/2 C confectioners' sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and melted chocolate; mix well. Add applesauce and vanilla. Set aside.

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spoon batter into four ungreased 5-1/2x3x2 inch loaf pans. Bake at 350º for 35-40 minutes or until done. Cool in pans 10 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
For glaze, melt chocolate chips and butter in a saucepan; stir in cream. Remove from the heat; stir in sugar, vanilla and salt. Drizzle over warm bread.
