1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose or whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sour cream
Brown Sugar Filling
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 tsp. milk
Preheat oven to 350º F.
Grease 12 c. bundt cake pan.
To prepare brown sugar filling, mix brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon together. Set aside.
Beat sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt alternately with sour cream on low speed.
Spread 1/3 of the batter (about 2 c.) in greased bundt pan. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the brown sugar filling. Repeat 2 times.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until wooden skewer inserted near center comes out clean.
Meanwhile, prepare glaze by mixing together the confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
Cool slightly before removing from pan. Cool for an additional 10 minutes before drizzling cake with glaze.
