Ingredients: 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 onion
1 pkg (1-1.25 oz.) taco seasoning mix
1 3/4 c. (7 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2 Tbls. water
1 egg white, lightly beaten
Optional toppings; salsa, shredded lettuce, chopped onion and tomato, sliced olives and sour cream or ranch dressing.

Directions:Preheat oven to 375º. Unroll crescent rolls. Separate into 16 triangles. Arrange triangles, slightly overlapping, in a circle with the wide ends 4 inches from edge of round baking stone. Roll wide ends of dough toward center to create a 5 inch opening. Cook ground beef and onion in large skillet over medium heat 10-12 minutes or until no longer pink. Stir in taco seasoning, 1 1/2 cups of the cheese and water. Mix well. Using a large ice cream scoop, scoop filling evenly over dough in a continuous circle. Bring points of triangles up over filling and tuck under dough at center to form a ring. (Filling will show). Brush with egg white. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with desired toppings. |

Notes: This is my husband's favorite meal. He always requests it for his birthday dinner. (Unless we are by my dad and then he wants dad's Costco steaks). To make this very pretty, cut the top off of a pepper and take out the seeds. Pour your salsa in the pepper and put the pepper in the middle of the ring with the lettuce, tomato and olives sprinkled inbetween the pepper and the ring.
