1 onion, diced
2 pounds potatoes, peeled & cubed
1 pound scallops
1 pound haddock (or any flaky white fish)
1 pound raw shrimp
1½ to 2 pound live Maine lobster
1 pound butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk
salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Boil lobster and peel shrimps. In a large pot, boil onion, potatoes, scallops, and haddock with ½ pound butter (use just enough water to cover these ingredients). Meanwhile, sauté shrimp and shelled lobster meat in remaining ½ pound of butter until butter turns reddish. When potatoes are cooked, do not drain! Just add the sautéed shrimp and lobster including the buttery sauce, evaporated milk, salt & pepper, and simmer another 2 to 3 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Karen's cousins, Doug and Connie Anderson, brought this wonderful chowder to our home for a family gathering many years ago, and it's been a family favorite ever since!
