Combine and let set 20 minutes:
1 cup quick oatmeal
1 1/4 cup boiling water
Combine:
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening

Add 2 eggs

Combine:
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Alternate oatmeal and flour with shortening mixture. Pourinto a greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 325º for 35 or more minutes.

Topping: 3/4 cup brown sugar
6 Tbl spoons butter
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup pecans
1 cup coconut
Spread on cake and place under broiler to brown.
