"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

I use a large stemmed triffle bowl for this dessert
Whip heavy cream for about 2 minutes. Add the sugar and the vanilla; continue whipping until the cream is thick and heavy, make sure it's not butter!
Break the angel food cake into bite size pieces. Layer half of the pieces into the bowl. Top with 1 can of the cherries and half of the whipped cream. Repeat the layers, ending with the whipping cream. Sprinkle with a touch of cinnamon and a mint sprig. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

This is so simple it's almost a sin to take all the credit! But you'll get ooos and ahs from this everytime you serve it. Try substituting the angel food cake with pound cake, and the cherries for chocolate pudding. Yum-o
