1 cup pitted dates
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup nuts (any kind will do)
1 tbs butter
dash of salt
1tsp vanilla extract
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cut dates and pour the 1 cup of boiling water over the dates. Mix in baking soda, beated egg and pour in other ingredients as listed above. Mix very well. Spray a loaf pan with Pam and put batter in loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
