1 c. butter
1/3 c. dry cocoa
2 c. all purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla

FROSTING:
1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp dry cocoa
3 tbsp buttermilk
2-1/4 c. confectioners' sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil; stir constantly. Remove from heat. In large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, soda, and salt; stir in eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Add cocoa mixture; mix till blended. Pour into greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch baking pan. Bake @ 375º for 20 minutes. Immediately pour FROSTING over brownies; spread evenly. Cool; cut into bars.

FROSTING: In saucepan, mix 1/4 c. butter, 3 tbsp. dry cocoa, and 3 tbsp. buttermilk. Cook and stir till boiling; remove from heat. Beat in 2 1/4 c. confectioners' sugar, 1/2 c. chopped walnuts, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla.

You can use a 9 x 13 pan, but it requires a longer baking time. Check center with toothpick to make sure it's done.
