1 head of lettuce (romaine) (I use 1 1/2 bags)
2 green onions, chopped
1 c celery
1 large can mandarin oranges (11oz) (I use 2 cans)
1/3 c slivered almonds
3-4 Tbsp. sugar
Toss together salad ingredient. Melt sugar over low heat in sauce pan, add almonds. stir until coated with sugar.

3 Tbsp rice (wine) vinegar
4 Tbsp vegetable oil
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp almond extract
dash of pepper
Mix well, pour on salad stuff shortly before serving top with almonds.
