1 c. (2 sticks) butter (no substitutes)
3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1 egg
2 t. vanilla extract
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1 package (10-12 oz) chocolate chips

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º F

Beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until ligh and fluffy. Add corn syrup, egg and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 min or until lightly browned and almost set. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Cookies will be softer the second day.
