3 eggs
2 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
pinch nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 T shortening
1 1/2 c milk
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
pinch black pepper
flour to roll

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Add enough flour to make a dough stiff enough to roll. Roll out on slightly floured surface. Do not add to much flour , it will make your doughnuts hard. Roll out thick. Cut with doughnut cutter and fry in hot oil. Fry until brown on both sides.
