3/4 cup brown sugar (dark brown)
2 1/2 cups flour (sifted)
1 tbsp. ginger
1/2 tsp salt
3 beaten eggs
3/4 cups molasses
1 tsp soda
1 cup boiling water
2/3 cups melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients, mix shortening and sugar, add beaten eggs and molasses and beat well. Add flour and water alternately, beating until smooth. Pour into two shallow pans. Bake at 350º until broom straw comes out clean.
