Italian Lemon Cordial
6 lemons
1 bottle 100-proof vodka
1 3/4 cups sugar
3 1/4 cups water

With vegetable peeler remove peel from lemons (you can keep the lemons for your ice trays)
Pour vodka into 8-cup measuring cup or large punch bowl and add lemon peels. Cover with saran wrap and let stand at room temperature 1 week. After 1 week strain vodka mixture in sieve to discard lemon peels. In 2 quart saucepan stir sugar and water and bring to a boil. Keep stirring and let boil for about 2 minutes. Cool completely and add cool surup to vodka mixture.
