1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (3 or 4 bananas)
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350º.

Cream sugar with butter or margarine. Add eggs, one at a time, beating hard after each addition. Stir in bananas and lemon juice. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt: add and mix quickly. Stir in nuts, if desired.

Pour into greased 9"x5"x3" pan. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.

I do not like nuts, so this is my Banana Bread recipe. My Mom used to slice a piece and put some butter on it, but I like it plain.
