Bake a chocolate cake mix in 3 (9-inch) cake pans. Fill layers with 1/2 sauce mised with 1 cup whipped cream. Frost rest of cake with 1 cup whipped cream and pour sauce over the middle to drape down sides of cake.

Sauce:
1 1/2 C chocolate chips
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C butter
1/2 C water
1/2 t. peppermint flavoring

Heat in double boiler until well blended. Cool before mixing with whipped cream.
