10 Tbs Butter
2 C brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 C evaporated milk
1 C. nuts, chopped (optional)
3 C powdered sugar (sifted)
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
melt butter in sauce pan. Add brown sugar and milk. Boil over low heat for 3 minutes. Wash down crystals from sides of pan with pastry brush dipped in hot water. Remove from heat, add powdered sugar and beat until creamy. Add nuts and vanilla; pour into well buttered pan 8x8x2". Cool. Cut into 1 inch squares.
