28 Jonathan or Winesap Apples, cored & quartered

To each pint of apples, add:
1 c. sugar
1 c. apple cider
1 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch of allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Cook apples in covered pan until tender, run through food mill. Measure apples after processing and place in greased crock pot.

To each pint of apples, add mixture of sugar, cider, cinnamon & allspice. Cover crockpot and put on high for 6 to 8 hours or until thick. After the first 3 hours, remove the lid and continue cooking. Place thickened apple butter in jars & process jars in hot water for 10 minutes.
