1 cup warm water (115 degrees)
5-6 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. Sugar
2 Yeast cakes

12 cups flour
2 tsp. salt
3 cups sugar
12 large eggs
¾ pound butter
1 qt warm milk (110 degrees)
1 box white raisins
1 Tbsp. vanilla

6 tsp. cinnamon
¼ - ½ pound butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar, and warm water; break in yeast and beat well. Let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour in warm place.

Mix flour, salt and sugar; add melted butter, warm milk, beaten eggs, and vanilla; beat well then add raisins after washed in cold water, drained, and floured; beat well again. When yeaast mixture is doubled in size, add to above and mix and beat well. Put in warm place; cover with towel and let rise until doubled in volume (2 ½ hours). Beat down and let rise once again (1 hour). Beat down again. Have 7-8 tins ready (oiled and floured). Fill each tin ½ full. Let rise to top of pan (covered with wax paper) about ½ hour rising time.

Topping:
3 cups sugar
6 tsp. cinnamon
¼ - ½ pound butter

Mix to crumble. Sprinkle over top of loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

An Easter tradition in the Nowicki household. I've make this every year since marrying into this Polish family. It's fun, but it takes a full day. Watch the first and second rising. I've had some good clean ups to do over the years.
