1/4 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
6 c. (1/2 inch thick) sliced okra
1 Tbs. salad oil or bacon drippings

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cornmeal, salt and pepper; stir well.
Dredge okra in the cornmeal mixture.
Spread oil in a 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan.
Spread the okra evenly in the pan.

Bake at 400º for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring often.

Fried okra was another of Dad's favorite foods!
I remember having a garden, as a kid, and we always had okra, eggplant, tomatoes, onions, yellow squash and cucumbers. We even tried potatoes one year.
