2 egg whites
1/8 t salt
1/8 t cream of tartar
1/2 C sugar
1 C chopped pecans
1/2 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º. Beat egg whites until foamy, beat in salt and cream of tartar. Add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, beating until very stiff peaks form. Fold in nuts and vanilla.

Spoon into lightly buttered 8" pie pan to form a nest like shell. Build up sides at least 1/2" above edge of pan. Bake at 300º for 35 - 40 min. Cool.
