4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt mix these three together in a bowl
in another bowl
1 c. shortening or butter or margarine
1 c. brown sugar - bream butter and sugar together well
2 c. sugar
4 eggs - well beaten
1 T. vanilla - add these to sugar and butter
1 cup of finely shooped black walnuts

add the flour mixture and and stir together
then add the cup of black wlanuts

shape dough into 2 logs and wrap in waxed paper
refrigerate overnite

slice and bake in 400º oven for 10 minutes
