1 pound bacon, chopped
6 ozs. cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup red chili sauce (Heinz)
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 teaspooon white pepper
1/2 cup chopped green onions, including tops
1/2 can (8 oz.) water chestnuts, chopped

Cook bacon in a large skillet over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, chili sauce, Tabasco and pepper in a food processor fitted with the metal blade until well blended. Add the green onions, bacon and water chestnuts and process on and off until chopped into small pieces. Remove to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

This dip may be refrigerated up to 2 days or it may be frozen. Defrost it in the refrigerator. Stir in additional sour cream if too thick. Serve with vegetables or chips.
