Apple Bread Recipe

1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups peeled & sliced apples
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2/3 cup nuts

Peel and slice apples and pour lemon juice over them. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla, stir in apples and lemon juice. Sift dry ingredients and blend into creamed mixture. Add nuts. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and bake at 350 oven for 50 minutes. Remove from pan and finish cooling.
