1 cup butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2/3 cup molasses
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 3/4 - 4 cups flour

Lemon Icing

2 cups powdered sugar
2 Tab. lemon juice
Milk

Add enough milk to make icing of drizzle consistency.

Cream butter and sugar. Add soda and spices. Beat until combined. Beat in eggs and molasses. Add flour. (Dough will be stiff). Drop spoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until edges are firm. Drizzle lemon icing ot top. Makes 2-3 dozen.

Can roll dough in coarse sugar before baking instead of the lemon icing on top. Store cookies in air tight container.
