2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c shortening
1 c milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together first five ingredients, cut in shortening or rub thru hands until resembles coarse crumbs. Make well in center and add milk all at once, stir until dough just clings together. Use large soup spoon to dip out on grease baking sheet. Bake at 425º for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 9 large biscuits.
