2 large bunches broccoli crowns (2 1/2 - 3 lbs.)
2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 (6 oz.) pkgs. sweetened dried cranberries
1 (6 oz.) pkg. dried apricots, diced
1 (8 oz.) block extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
2 (2.25 oz.) pkgs. slivered almonds, toasted
1 small purple onion, diced

1. Cut broccoli into small pieces.
2. Whisk together mayonnaise and next 4
ingredients. Add flowerets, cranberries and
remaining ingredients, tossing to coat.
3. Serve immediately or chill up to 6 hrs.

A "Barbara Hammond from NC" recipe. I have made it for neighborhood luncheons and it disappears. In fact, I made a large batch knowing a friend who was coming was a vegetarian. By the time she arrived, it was gone!
