¼ c. margarine
¾ c. brown sugar
1 egg
½ c. evaporated milk + ½ T. vinegar
1 ¼ c. ground whole wheat (I like white wheat)
½ t. baking soda
¼ t. baking powder
¼ c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, and egg. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, except the walnuts. Let milk and vinegar mixture set. Then alternately add flour and “buttermilk” mixture. Stir in walnuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes. Let cookies slightly cool before adding burnt butter frosting.
Makes 2 dozen.
