Pop ½ lb. (1 1/3 cups) popcorn and put in large kettle in a 300 degree oven. When syrup is ready, both corn and kettle must be hot so it will mix well.

Combine: 1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup plus 1 T. corn syrup
¾ cup water

Bring to boil; wash down sides of pan (place lid on to steam sides clean of sugar grains).

Add 1 tsp. salt and cook to 300 degrees. Add ½ cube butter and mix well. Take off heat and add: 1 tsp. soda mixed with 1 tsp. vanilla.

Stir in well. Take corn out of oven and mix whole thing together with a wooden spoon. Pour out onto cold dry slab. Spread out. Or while still hot, roll into balls.
