2 Pkgs of dry yeast
2 cups warm water
1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon of sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup of shortening (melted and cooled)
4 to 5 cups of flour

Directions:

Mix together and let rise in bowl for 2 to 3 hours.
roll out and cut into rolls. place on foured cookie sheet and let rise for 2 to 3 hours. Put 1 stick of butter softened on top of rolls. Bake at
425 º oven for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

The Bradshaw's can't wait until Christmas dinner because Mamaw(Evelyn) always bake these. When she was sick with cancer treatments, Cindee made them so the tradition would continue.
