2/3 cup shortening
2 2/3 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 can pumpkin ( 1 lb)
2/3 can water
3 1/3 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
2/3 cup coarsely chopped nuts
2/3 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add egg, pumpkin and water. Mix well. Blend in dry ingredients except nuts and raisins. Pour batter into 2 loaf pans (9x5x3). Bake in 350 degree oven for 65-75 minutes or until tests done with wooden pick. Remove from pan, cool on rack. Wrap for freezer or store wrapped in refrigerator. Slice with a thin sharp knife.
