1/3 c. butter
1/3 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 egg
3/4 c. sugar
1 T. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, shortening and flour well. Add 1/2 of flour plus remaining ingredients. Beat until well combined. Add last 1/2 of flour. Separate into 2 balls, cover and refrigerate for 3 hours. Roll 1/2 of dough at a time, 1/8" thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 375º for 7-8 minutes. Cool, then frost.

Frosting: 1 Cup powdered sugar, 1/4 tsp. vanilla, 1 T milk (add 1 tsp at a time until you get the consistency you like). Add food coloring of your choice.
