1/2 stick butter
cinnamon(to desired taste)
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water

Peel apples and cut out the seeds. Cut apples into big chunks and place in pot. Add water, sugar, butter and cinnamon. Cover and cook on medium heat until the apples are as tender as you want them, stirring every so often.

I'm just guessing on the amount of sugar and cinnamon. I just put until it looks dark enough for me.You want the chunks kind of big because they break up a little while cooking. Taste after they cook for a while and if it needs any more sugar or cinnamon, just add to taste.
