1/2 cup flour
1tsp salt-dash of pepper
3-3 1/2 lb chicken
2-3 T butter
1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup water
1Tbsp wine vinger
1Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp each salt, cloves, allspice

Combine flour, salt &pepper. Roll chicken pieces in flour mixture to coat. Slowlly brown chicken in butter about 30 minutes. Remove chicken fron pman. Add cranberries, brown sugar and water to drippings in pan. Cook for 5 minutes or until cranberry skins pop. Mix vinegar with flour and seasonings. Add to cranberry mixture. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Put chicken pieces into cranberry sauce and simmer for 30 minutes, turning occasionly.

This has been a family favorite since the first time I cooked it. These days we enlarge the recipe and use mostly chicken breasts. Its almost always served with mashed potatoes because the sauce is so great.
