2 sticks (1 C. ) softened butter
2 C. flour
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 pound walnuts, ground fine
1/2 C. sugar
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter and cream cheese. Add flour to make dough. Divide into 3 equal parts, wrap in plastic wrap and chill for several hours. Roll out each to 1/4" thickness. Mix walnuts and sugar and spread over dough. Roll up and seal edge with a little water. Slice about 1/2 inch thick and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 10 -15 minutes, until bottoms are lightly browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 4 doz.

I spotted this recipe in a Holiday Cookbook in the Reno Gazzette Journal dated Nov. 13, 1985. It was the first place winner in the cookie category. They are delectable, very light and so good that they've been regulars on my Christmas cookie tray ever since. They freeze well in zip lock bags.
