1 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar
1 Egg
1 C. pumpkin purree
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 C. flour
1-1/2 C. raisins
2 t. orange rind
1/2 C. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, egg and pumpkin. Mix 1/4 C. flour with raisins and orange peel. Mix rest of dry ingredients together with wire whisk and add to creamed mixture, then add flour with raisins and orange peel. Mix well. Add chopped nuts (if desired). Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 for 12 to 15 minutes.

Icing:
3 T. softened butter
3-1/2 C. powdered sugar
1/4 C. orange juice
Beat with mixer until smooth. Ice cooled cookies --top with finely chopped nuts if desired.

This is another Patty Prussia recipe and very rich, moist and delicious. These freeze well layered between wax paper.
