1 Cup sliced celery
1/2 grated carrots
1 diced onion
2 cups diced potatoes
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup white or wheat flour
1 quart milk
1/2 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp granulated sugar
3 cans clams

Directions:
Directions:
Cover the celery, carrots, onion and potatoes with water and cook 10 - 15 minutes. Leave liquid on.
Make the cream sauce using the margarine, flour, milk, pepper, salt and sugar. melt the margaraine in a saucepan. Combine the flour, pepper, salt and sugar and add it to the melted maragine until it is a smooth paste. Stir in the milk and cook until it is thick, or it has boiled. Combine the vegetables with water, clams and cream sauce. Simmer until it is ready.
