1 3-4 lb chicken cut up
6 cups water
1 T. salt
1 tsp curry powder (important)
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1 small bunch parsley
1 medium onion sliced
1 medium carrot sliced
1-2 stalks celery sliced
1 green pepper diced
1 medium apple pared & sliced
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup flour
28 oz. stewed tomatoes (DeiFratelli good brand)

Directions:
Put Chicken, water and next 5 ingredients in pot, cover and simmer 45 minutes or until the chicken is tender. Remove chicken from broth. Then add water to make 1 qt of broth. Remove bones etc and cut up chicken. In large saucepan or dutch oven, cook all vegatabes in butter until tender, remove from heat, stir in flour and coat vegetable. Grandually stir in broth and tomatoes, add chicken. Heat to boiling point stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute, cover & simmer 1 hour.
