2 gallons of cucumbers
1 oz. alum
salt water
8 c. sugar
2 1/2 pints vinegar
4 sticks cinnamon
2 tsp. celery seed

Directions:
DAYS 1-7:
Split 2 gallons of cucumbers. Soak 7 days in salt water (1 pint salt to 1 gallon water).
DAY 8:
Pour off salt water and cover with boiling water.
DAY 9:
Pour off water and cover with fresh boiling water containing 1 oz. Alum.
DAY 10:
Pour off this water and rinse pickles. Mix sugar, vinegar, cinnamon sticks and celery seed. Bring mixture to a boil and pour over cucumbers.
DAY 11:
Drain mixture off of cucumbers and reheat. Pour back on cucumbers.
DAY 12:
Pack cucumbers in jar and reheat mixture to boiling and pour into jars over cucumbers and seal.
