1/2 C sugar
1/4 C butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Dash of salt
1 C fresh or frozen cranberries
4 medium unpeeled tart apples, thickly sliced

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 15-17 minutes or until the apples are tender and the sauce is slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.

I serve this as a side dish or baked over the top of pork chops. In Bozeman, the backyard had two apple trees that yielded LOTS of fruit so I ate and baked apples in every way possible. This is a favorite especially in the fall.
