1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 large yellow onion, coarsely chopped
1 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. dried leaf marjoram, crumbled
1/4 tsp. dried leaf thyme, crumbled
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 C. cream-style cottage cheese
4 oz. cream cheese, diced
1/2 lb. medium egg noodles, cooked and drained
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 C. coarsely shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Coat a 2-1/2 to 3 quart casserole with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. Saute beef, onion and garlic in a large, heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat, breaking up clumps, until meat is uniformly browned. Stir in marjoram and thyme and cook, stirring often, 3 to 4 minutes. Mix in tomato sauce, cottage cheese, cream cheese, cooked noodles, salt and pepper. Taste for salt and pepper and adjust as needed. Place in a flat casserole pan and scatter cheddar cheese on top. Bake in preheated 350 oven, uncovered, until browned and bubbly, 25 to 30 mins.
