3c. flour

4 1/2tsp. baking powder

1/2tsp. salt

1/4c. sugar

1/4c.firmly packed light brown sugar

1/2c. raisins

1/2c. (1 stick) chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces

1c. (about) whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.

Butter 2 large cookie sheets.

Sift flour into bowl.

Mix in both sugars and raisins.

Add butter and rub in with fingertips or pastry blender until mixture resembles course meal.

Stir in enough cream to form soft, slightly sticky dough.

Turn out and knead until soft.

Gather into a ball; flatten into a disk.

Cut out with a 2" round cookie cutter.

Space evenly on the cookie sheet.

Bake scones until puffed and brown about 12 minutes.
