1 cup shortening (use half Crisco® and half butter or margarine)
1 cup brown sugar, brown
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon water
2 eggs
2 cups plus 4 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups M&Ms® plain chocolate candy

Directions:

Blend shortening, butter, and sugars in electric mixer. Beat in vanilla, water, and eggs until creamed. Add remaining dry ingredients to the creamed egg and sugar mixture. Mix well. Stir in M&Ms by hand. Chill dough for 1 hour. Drop teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Variation: instead of adding the M&Ms to the batter, press several onto each cookie before baking.
Bake 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes
